Material Pleasure

They say on a professional front that you should never work with children and animals! But alas ... somehow there you are, camera in hand, down on the floor level trying to organise an array of happy snaps of your beloved children.

Photo Pleasure is a fun time in our home, we get the big white doona and white sheets out and spread them across the floor (or red at christmas time of course), then look for what today's prop will be! I had some gorgeous material that I'd picked up from a garage sale in our treasure box and thought this would be a great starting point for some simple scenes. Here was I envisaging what shots we'd have, and of course Jaida and Jaxon had other ideas! *hahaha* .. Cheeky children!

Caleb has always enjoyed posing for the camera, a cheeky smile there, a glint in his eye here and just such a natural on film (please note he was at preschool when we did this shoot, so oops .. .missed out!) ... Now Miss Jaida on the other hand, I'd love to have some shots of her, I have been looking back through our photo album and thinking .. oh my! so ... off I went, placing Jaida carefully down on the doona (and yes I do remember she's only 2 1/2 years old (laughs!!) and then wrapping pink tulle around her for the whole princess theme ...smile at Mummy Jaida cakes ... Say Happy Princess!! SNAP! and then she's away .... Rolling round here, jumping over there, giggling, swishing her hair around .. and running behind the lens!

Anyway, sometimes the simplest shot is the best!

This is Jaida before we started, hair done up,
pretty ribbon, giggling on the couch!

This is Jaida, hair out (she was swishing it around)
on the floor in princess mode! I loved the way which
she placed her fingers either side of her cheeky little cheeks!

Then it was Jaxon's turn, I used to spend hours taking photos of Caleb and Jaida and have been feeling the "mummy guilts" for not having an extensive portfolio featuring Jaxon Levi (what they often refer to as 3rd child syndrome!) ... He was just beautiful, but enjoys coming for the camera at lightning speed, then Mummy picking him back up, sitting him down and wrapping green net material around him!

Jaxon, I can see the same cheeky personality
as his older brother shining through in these photos!

Jaxon, beautiful big blue / green eyed boy!

Now armed with an array of photos, I need to find some time to update their scrapbooking albums! Another mountain to conquer there!
