What I really loved was that everyone would approach the chosen text from a different perspective, with different life experiences and views on of what the novel was about, per se'. Sometimes heated (but friendly) debate would arise (or do I say EXPLODE) ending with a chuckle and a good hearted slap on the shoulder. Where would we be in life, without a challenge here or a debate there? Of course, in case you are thinking we were an unruly, outspoken, aggreessive group of readers ... rules were always established in being that everyone had the right to express their opinion and to be listened to respectfully (thankfully we were all mature adults able to abide by this, regardless of whether we agreed or not over certain things.)
I could not resist the oppotunity to join the newly formed EB Bookclub (you are all welcome, click on the banner below to visit and learn more.) with this month's chosen book being - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Forty years ago, Harriet Vanger disappeared off the secluded island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger family. Harriet's uncle, Henrik, is convinced that she was murdered by someone in her own family - the deeply dysfunctional Vanger clan. This is a violent and bloody thriller, a sinister family saga, a mystery of massive financial fraud and an ambiguous and haunting love story. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is a genuinely complex and unique contribution to crime fiction. This special embellished edition of the first book in the Millennium Trilogy also includes the first chapter of The Girl Who Played with Fire.

I am looking forward to delving into it and seeing where this tale will take me.

Oh Mel where do you find the time?? I'd love to join in but will have to give the group a miss and check in on your book reviews instead. My NY's resolution was to read and so far I have managed to put 3 titles on my list and am now 1/3 of the way through the next book (Memoirs of a Geisha - have you read it). I can't believe it took a resolution to get me reading again, I've missed it so much!
