Motivational Monday

"I learned ... that inspiration does not come like a bolt, nor is it kinetic, energetic striving, but is comes into us slowly and quietly and all the time, though we must regularly and every day give it a little chance to start flowing, prime it with a little solitude and idleness."

Brenda Ueland quotes (American feminist and author 1891-1985)

What are my thoughts on this?

Inspiration comes in many forms, it may channeled from a celebrity or sporting role model that you greatly admire and aspire to share values of in your everyday lives. It could simply be somebody from your own family that has taught you many valuable traits that shape and form the person you are today, or the person you are working towards becoming.

Your inspiration may simply come from somebody that doesn't even know that they do inspire you, the kind of person that you cross paths with in your life and think "wow, you are such a remarkable person, I am so blessed you have come into my life and showed me how to ... " Remember the ordinary are often the extra-ordinary!

It may be from a website, a forum, a blog, a story that you have read, or movie that you have viewed, or even something random you have stumbled across, or been drawn to when most needed.

Your inspiration may be drawn from all of these entities, you drawing out, like radiant glowing strings of energy, bits and pieces, that you twist, and turn, manipulate and create into something miraculous that leads to a further greatness in your life. That creates a feeling of self fulfillment or accomplishment, a sense of pride, even of security and self-acceptance.

Greatness out there comes in many shapes and forms, it doesn't have to be the scientist or sporting hero, it can be the simple pleasure everyday from people that take the extra step to smile, say a kind word, lend a helping hand. Sometimes the smallest acts create the greatest people.

Every day, take the time to feel inspired, the time to clear the mind, to visualise, or to meditate and re-connect the inner psyche. It could even just be the time that you breathe in and clear your mind of the busy thoughts that are acquired in any day. The time that you stand still for a moment to stare out your window and see the sun rising or setting, or just the moment, you stop and stare up at a clear blue sky with cumulus clouds drifting by.

It doesn't matter where you live, anything and everything can inspire in the smallest or greatest way.

It could be as simple as pulling the car over to stop and look at a marvelling landscape in nature as we did today driving home from an outing, the simple sea of yellow flowers associated with cape weed. I couldn't resist, the yellow was so vibrant, so energising, I was entranced and we pulled over and took a moment to just sit still engulfed in a sea of yellow. You couldn't help but feel inspired by something so simple, it was re-energising, it brought great peace.

So see as this week goes by, what inspires you, how are you inspired, how does it make you feel when you experience this, do you visualise and see yourself inspiring others ...

We all have the power to be inspired and we all have the power to inspire someone else.
