Baby Taggie Blankets

It was back in 2003 when I was pregnant with Caleb after having lost our first beautiful babe that a special friend from the states sent me a very special taggie blanket for our impending birth. As soon as I had unwrapped it, I was in love with the concept. Soft, cuddly fleece and the most incredible array of tactile ribbons around the outer edging. I can say that in our household, the "Taggie" has been utterly doted on and adored. It has been snuggled with as eyes close into peaceful slumber. It has dutifully dragged around the house by a corner and it has also been respectfully and admirable passed on from sibling to sibling. Caleb giving to Jaida, Jaida giving to Jaxon. Presently, the beloved "Taggie" goes to bed every night with Jaxon, he soothingly rubbing it against his face as he snuggles down for every sleep. I often find him playing peek-a-boo with it, as though it is his favourite companion in the world. Our "Taggie" has been loved, our "Taggie" gives love!

The "hand me down taggie!"

It was with this in mind that I decided that sometimes the most simple gift can be the most precious of all. There seems to have been such an abundance of blue arriving all around me of late that I finally knuckled down and created some beautiful taggies to hand on to friends around the place. It took me some time to decide upon the ribbons, I was looking for variation in not only colour and design, but size and tactile feel (as you know, these ribbons get pulled, sucked and experimented from such an sensory point of view.)

These are my first round of taggies using polar fleece spot design. I also have some gorgeous striped polar fleece for another round later on! ENJOY!

I love these Mel! The colours are fantastic, they are perfect baby gifts. I also love the taggie that your 3 have passed down to each other, I know mine would have been reluctant to pass it on!
