It's Advent Blog~a~long Day #3 and I must say that I'm hoping the inspiration from blogging each day will drive the creativity in my home, and lure me into festive spirit!
This is actually still a work in progress, I just need to shorten the length, hem and perhaps add some type of embellishment at the bottom to finish the piece off. Jaida has already been floating (or do I say flitting) around in her new little pink number and think she's very special that her Mumma just whipped it up mid-afternoon when she needed some sewing therapy!
Now you may already recognise that its' not designer fabric, but a $1 pillowcase slip that we brought from the Op Shop yesterday.
I just used the Caroline Dress pattern to cut the arm holes and fold over the top to thread the ribbon through. You must excuses that I haven't tied the ribbon evenly, it was a race against time for school pick up, with Jaida wanting her dress there and then! I like the ribbon tied on each shoulder (rather than just one shoulder like her other dress) Its' definitely very sweet!
I honestly thought that the fabric print was quite dainty, reminiscent of old created into new. Jaida picked it out herself, and you must stay tuned for we also brought the most divine ocean blue pillowcase slip as well with a fuschia like flower print on it!
There you go, a sweet and simple little number, new created from old! How easy is that?

Gorgeous, love it! Love that it only cost 1 dollar, awesome :) Jaida has great taste in prints, it really does make for a pretty little dress.
So cute!
