Tonight Casey and I will don masks (made by the two of us) with an air of mystery and romanticism to attend the St Mary's Masquerade Ball.
The masquerade party or ball of course, was one in which all guests traditionally came in costume and equipped with masks. Historically, the masquerade ball became popular in medieval times, namely in 15th century Italy and were mainly held for society’s elite, nobles, and royalty. These were especially popular in Venice. Later, in the 18th and 19th centuries these balls became popular across the rest of Europe. And despite these types of parties having an origin in medieval times, they have not lost popularity over the centuries.
A few weeks ago, I came home armed with some mask supplies and a hot glue gun to create some magical and colourful fantastical displays! Of course, I wouldn't be me without already having organised my dress, so incorporating the right colours into my mask to complement my "costume" was of high priority, naturally!
I must say I am looking forward to an "adult" evening out, as much I as adore and am totally smitten with the three little B's, Mother B sometimes needs a "release" time to let her inner soul glow from within (without the three little B's tagging along of course.)
Mel's handiwork, she's more simple with a sequined attire and classic feather fanning
